What Tex does differently
Radar is something you turn on for a while, not a setting that stays on in the background. Being visible is a choice you make each time, not a family policy.
Tex never sends anyone your exact coordinates — only distance and direction, already computed on the server.
Tex also lets you leave something pinned to a real place for whoever passes by later, which has nothing to do with tracking anyone.
Where Life360 is better

is not worth reading. These are real, and they are the reasons to stay where you are.
Life360 is built for families watching out for each other: driving reports, crash detection, always-on location. That continuous tracking is the point for that use case, and Tex does not do any of it.
If what you want is to know where your kid's car is at 11pm, Radar is the wrong tool — it turns off, on purpose.
